How to modify images and text on the homepage
1. Begin by logging into the Manager area of the website (if you do not know how to login to the Manager area, please see the tutorial entitled “General Overview”).
2. In the tree diagram on the left, navigate to the document entitled “Home Page Intro & Mission Statement”. Right click this document and choose “Edit Document” from the pop up menu.
3. Once this document loads, you will see “Title” and “Long Title” under the “General” tab. The value that you enter in the “Title” will correspond to the name of the document in the tree diagram on the left. The value you enter in “Long Title” will correspond to the First title that appears on the homepage. For example, if you were to enter “Welcome to My Website” in Longtitle and then save the document and look at the homepage in another browser, you will see that phrase, “Welcome to My Website” on the homepage.
4. In the Document Content area, simply enter the text you want in the first paragraph on the homepage.
5. If you scroll down in the document to “Template Variables”, you will see a title that reads, “2nd Title” and “2nd Group of Content”. Whatever text you type into the field to the right of “2nd Title” will appear as the 2nd Title on the homepage and the same is true for the text inputed in “2nd Group of Content”.
6. Also if you scroll down a little more in the document, you will see “Image Addition 1”. The image you enter here will correspond to the image that shows up on the homepage in the 2nd Content area (the area where the “2nd Title” and “2nd Group of Content” appear).
7. Now simply save the document by scrolling back up to the top of the page where you will see to the right of “Create/edit document” 2 rows of choices. On the first row you will see “Save”, “Delete” and “Cancel”. On the second row, you will see “After saving: Add Another, Continue Editing, Close” Simply choose “Continue Editing” and then click “Save”. If you have another browser or tab open, you can go to the page where the change occurred (in this case the homepage) and you’ll be able to see where this document was removed.
8. If you do not see any changes on the page you just modified, simply refresh that page and the change should show up.
9. To change the slideshow that appears on the homepage, in the Manager area (in the log in area), click the “+” sign to the left of “Home Page Intro and Mission Statement” and right click the “Edit Homepage Image Slideshow” and choose “Edit Document” from the pop up menu.
10. Once this document has loaded, scroll down to the “Template Variables” section and you will see “Slideshow Image 1”, “Slideshow Image 2”, etc. Simply insert the image you want here (to learn more about uploading images and inserting them in a particular document, view the tutorial for “How to Upload Images” and “How to Insert Images on Pages”).
12. If you do not see any changes on the page you just modified, simply refresh that page and the change should show up.
